My name is Mark and I live in the South-East of England. I'm 35 and live with my partner Penelope and our dog Wilson.

After many successful years working in a team I finally decided to go it alone and work from a home studio.

At least the long hours I work are now spent at home. My clients really enjoy the personal service that can only ever come from one-on-one involvement.

I am very proud to be in charge of the community at designerscouch.org and the super group at deviantart.com

We have many thousands of designers that share ideas and give critique to each others artwork. Plus we get to interview some of the biggest names in our industury.

For me personally this is an opportunity to learn and develop as a designer. The best way to get better at anything is to completely immerse yourself in that discipline.

Running a community of this size is a huge undertaking and responibility, but I was chosen because I have the self discipline and the necessary leadership skills.

Write.

I also write articles and blog about design and development. Finding the time to write does push myself to the limit, but putting your thoughts down in writing makes you give any given topic great consideration. It's a great way to learn and stay at the forefront of design and development.
